The right thing???

This was a movie that didn't really fit with the title. The right thing wasn't at all what was shown to the audiance. The racism, violence and other negative activity was very obvious. It was however very obvious that it was an idenpendant film. I don't believe there is a production company that would allow the terminology that was used in parts of this film. It portrayed several different races hollering out racial slurs against other races, kindof offending everyone. I think that was the point. Again, the right thing wasn't done in this movie.

  1. You're right here, Jill. However, a more effective analysis would include elaborations telling the reader where you see the controversial material in the film, why you think Spike Lee featured the segment with the racial slurs presented in a breaking-the-4th-wall style format from your point of view, or what exactly was so offensive about the film. Why do you think Lee made these choices instead of going with Hollywood ideals and making more money? Your ideas are absolutely right, now just add in elements of the film to make a complete interpretive statement. Thanks for posting.
