Hi SWIC film appreciation students. I'm looking forward to a fun semester with you this summer!
When assigned, you will log in here after each class period, create a new post, and type an essay reflecting on the film screened in class as it relates to the topic discussed that period. Please include your name with each post. Your blog is due before the start of class. Blogs posted late will not be considered for credit. Blogs must be one to three paragraphs of substantial length for full credit (an acceptable paragraph is 6 to 10 sentences of interpretive material at minimum). Each blog is worth 5 points.
Your first post will discuss the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001) as it relates to MIS-EN-SCENE. Discuss each element of mis-en-scene and how it is generally executed in the film. In addition to briefly discussing each element of mis-en-scene and how it was used in the film, also discuss the overall stylistic, visual strategy of the filmmakers from your perspective.
